چکیده
Vitamins are generally essential; they mandatory compounds that not produced in the body and must be taken through food. These compounds, which play a role enzyme reactions as coenzymes, indispensable for human organism. Among them, vitamin D, is of great importance, can made differently from others. Vitamin D fat-soluble vitamin. Since its chemical structure similar to steroid hormones synthesized tissue released into circulatory system due act on target tissue, it also classified hormone. fairly important hormone plays maintaining bone calcium homeostasis.

The metabolism of vitamin A Formation of retinof, retinyl esters and retinal. Dietary provitamins and vitamin A are sources of tissue deposits of retinol, retinyl esters and retinal; the latter substances constitute a storage and transport system (Ganguly, 1960) which allows a continuous supply of the active form of the vitamin to be provided at whatever site it is required. Background. Vitamin D insufficiency may lead to various health problems. By encouraging sun protection to prevent skin cancer, physicians may be limiting a major source of vitamin D for many individuals. Methods. We did a literature review on issues related to vitamin D inadequacy, particularly those relevant to various racial/ethnic groups. Results. Vitamin D is an important hormone with many ...

Although it has been known for many years that the primary physiological action of vitamin D is to improve calcium absorption from the small intestine (1,2), studies on calcium metabolism alone have thus far failed to elucidate the biochemical mechanism of action of vitamin D. Ry using everted intestinal sacs, Schacht,er and Rosen (3) have shown that vitamin D increases the transport of *%a aga...

Fifteen men, who had undergone Billroth I gastrectomy and 19 men who had undergone Billroth II gastrectomy were studied with respect to vitamin D and other indices of calcium metabolism. The Billroth I group had hypocalcaemia, raised concentration of serum alkaline phosphatase, and reduced bone mineral content. The same biochemical disturbances were found in the Billroth II group, but bone mine...
